Description
Methodist Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic sonographic exams for diverse patient populations. This role includes preparing and positioning patients, operating ultrasound equipment, optimizing image quality, and collaborating with radiologists and providers for accurate interpretations. The technologist will maintain detailed records, follow infection control and safety standards, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care. This position thrives in our culture of integrity, collaboration, and accountability while supporting quality improvement and mentoring newer staff as needed.Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams according to physician orders and protocols
Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure comfort and exam accuracy
Operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, optimizing image settings for diagnostic quality
Collaborate with radiologists and providers to support accurate and timely interpretations
Document findings and maintain accurate patient and exam records in the electronic health record
Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and radiation-free imaging best practices
Assist with workflow efficiency, exam scheduling, and room readiness
Participate in quality assurance, equipment maintenance reporting, and process improvement initiatives
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with Methodist Health System values
Support orientation and mentoring of students or new technologists as requested
Diagnostic medical sonography
Abdominal ultrasound imaging
Obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound
Vascular ultrasound techniques
Ultrasound equipment operation and troubleshooting
Image optimization and quality assurance
Patient positioning and preparation
Electronic health records documentation
Infection control and safety protocols
Communication with physicians and multidisciplinary teams

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent ARDMS credential
ARRT(S) or ARRT credential in Sonography preferred, if applicable
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
State licensure or registration as required in Texas
Competency in general and vascular ultrasound procedures
