Description
Methodist Health System is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Tech to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams, including vascular studies, following established protocols and safety standards. You will collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff, accurately document findings, and ensure excellent patient care and comfort. The ideal candidate holds current RDMS and RVT credentials, demonstrates strong communication skills, and models our values of integrity, compassion, and accountability. We offer a collaborative, inclusive work environment and comprehensive benefits.Perform high-quality general and vascular ultrasound examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure comfort, safety, and understanding of ultrasound procedures.
Optimize imaging parameters and utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics to obtain diagnostic images.
Document and label images accurately and complete required information in the EMR and PACS systems.
Recognize and promptly communicate urgent or significant findings to radiologists and ordering providers.
Maintain ultrasound equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and report malfunctions or safety concerns.
Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards in all aspects of patient care and equipment use.
Prioritize and manage exam schedules, supporting add-on and emergent cases as needed in coordination with the care team.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to support coordinated, patient-centered care.
Maintain RDMS and RVT credentials, participate in continuing education, and support departmental quality improvement activities.
Diagnostic medical sonography

Patient positioning and preparation
Image optimization and quality assurance
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology
Assessment of hemodynamics and blood flow
PACS and EMR documentation
Infection control and safety protocols
Communication with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Patient education and instruction
Time management and exam prioritization
Recognition of urgent/emergent findings
Basic life support (BLS)

Previous hospital or clinic-based ultrasound experience preferred
