Full time, weekday opportunity for an Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, in Winston-Salem, NC.

Job Summary:

Assists the provider in the delivery of health care by performing diagnostic ultrasound exams by producing, assessing, and evaluating images and related data used to determine a medical diagnosis.

What You'll Need:

• Associate's degree (or Two-Year Professional Program) in ultrasound training from an AMA approved school. One-year clinical experience in the field of study to be performed.
• Currently Certified as a Registered Vascular Sonographer with ARDMS.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Maintains minimum continuing education credits.

What You'll Do:

1. Take a thorough vascular history and assesses the patient's vascular status as it relates to the type of testing ordered.
2. Write preliminary reports on IP charts and calls preliminary reports OP to referring provider when necessary.
3. Perform tests ordered by the provider in a timely and professional manner.
4. Assist the reading provider by analyzing and evaluating the results of the study.
5. Select appropriate transducers and adjusts controls for examinations to optimize consistently image quality according to patient's size and the objective of the exam.
6. Explain to patients and family members each examination to be performed and professionally answers any questions they may have. Provide the patient with comfort, privacy, and instructions to assure a high quality result.
7. Ensure efficient and proper functioning of ultrasound equipment and cleaning according to manufacturer's specifications. Provides input for equipment and supply purchases. Communicate equipment malfunctions as appropriate.
8. Responsible for specific quality assurance and control duties in the assigned area.
9. Generate a work atmosphere that maintains a positive attitude toward teamwork.
10. Maintain a work area that is clean, orderly, and stocked with necessary supplies.
11. Communicate with referring offices as necessary.
12. Practice universal precautions.

• Knowledge of operating PC and accessing applicable programs
• Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and protocols
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and universal precautions to establish a safe work environment

• Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings
• Well-lit, well-ventilated, and adequate space
• Frequent exposure to diseases, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment
